Monday 30th March - walk **** – Landguard Nature Reserve – sunny periods and a heavy showers arrived, breezy.

There was a fresh breeze from the wnw and sunshine so I decided to drive over to Levington to check out the conditions but I was not overly enthusiastic :( I arrived at the marina at 9.30 and there was loads of pipes etc in the face and I didn’t fancy carrying my gear to the launch spot, the wind was not ideal either being cross off so after taking a couple of pics I decided not to bother and return home to pack a picnic and head out for a lunchtime walk local with Mag as we had company in the afternoon, Joy Mags best friend from school who she hasn’t seen for 49 years! Mag was busy sorting the house out and making a cake so I sorted out my pics sending a few to the TV weather, one was chosen as a BBC Editers pick but sadly was not used onn the telly, I hate it when that happens!
Mag was free at 12.15 so we drove down to The Manor for a breezy walk around the lovely Landguard Nature Reserve, once again taking my long lens which takes some nice pics even if its very heavy to carry! We were sheltered from the fresh breeze, gusting over 30 knots at times for a lot of the walk and there was some cool clouds up above, some threatening rain but it stayed dry. We walked out onto the small pier but it was too windy to stay long so we continued along the Orwell to the lovely beach which we had pretty much to ourselves. We then found a sheltered spot behind the concrete wall to enjoy our roll inn the warm sunshine before returning home to have a great afternoon catching up on the last 49 years!
